Favorite Fashion and Style Books!

by - June 04, 2015

I think books are ones of my favorite things. These days most people like to read on their tablets or smart phones, but I am a fan of the good old fashion versions. I like having the book in hand to be able to turn the pages and be able to use actual bookmarks (like the ones I collected in elementary school). Not to mention I love the smell of a new book! Books are also great for decorating your space. I have two bookshelves in my apartment that are filled up with all kinds of different books.

With that said, lets jump into my favorite fashion/style books. I'm not ashamed to mention that my favorite books are the ones with big beautiful pictures. Yes, I am a grown who loves pictures books! For this reason I gravitate towards books with fun looking graphics.

My first favorite, or favorites if you will, are Style and Beauty by Lauren Conrad. In her books she gives lots of tips on everything from skincare and makeup to clothing and what to wear to an event. I love how she shares what she uses in her personal life with the reader.

Next, we have True Whit by Whitney Port. (If you cant tell already, I have a thing for the TV show The Hills) In this book, Whitney shares her ideas on how to create the kind of life you want. She gives her take on decorating, work, style, dating, having a social life, exercise, and more. Whitney also talks about living in New York, which I found interesting since I want to try that myself one day.

The next book that we have is Make Up; Your Life Guide To Beauty Style and Success Online and Off by Michelle Phan. I am a big fan of YouTube, so of course I had to grab this book. Michelle is a YouTube pioneer and I think everyone can learn something from her. Her book gives insight into her world of beauty and business. There are tons of tips on everything from how to do your makeup and decorate your closet to career advice and working online.

Moving right along to one of my top favorites, because its a style guide from my favorite show/movie, Sex and the City! This book is called Sex and the City 2; The Stories, The Fashion, The Adventure. It is based on all the fashion featured in the movie. It shows all of the outfits for each of the ladies and even details about the accessories paired with them. If you are a fashion freak like me then this book is perfect. Besides who doesn't love the fashion of miss Carrie Bradshaw?

The next one I have is Parisian Chic: A Style Guide by Ines de la Fressange with Sophie Gachet. This one is intriguing because it gives a style perspective from a French point of view. I have always found Parisian fashion to be both chic and effortless. The book is full of info on how to dress, shop, and be like a true Parisian. I have always wanted to go to Paris (I'm envisioning myself going soon!). I can't wait to try out all the tips from the book when I go abroad as well as here at home.

Next is probably my favorite of the favorites. I think it was one of the first style books I bought and it sparked a longing for a bigger book collection. It is the Teen Vogue Handbook: An Insiders Guide to Careers In Fashion. I love this book because it gives advice from the editors of vogue but also from experts in the industry. They all share their views on how to break in to the business, what to expect, and how to prepare yourself. I definitely recommend this book to everyone.

Well there you have it! Those are all my favorites for the moment. I'm sure that I will be adding more to my collection as new ones come out. I hope you enjoyed this post and will check out some of the books I have mentioned today. Thanks for stopping by!
